Don't forget to budget
It’s been all over our news.
Natural gas prices are going up, and I mean going up. For those of you just starting to think about home purchase and enamored with those large 3,000 sq foot homes, you might want to recalculate your budget.
For NW Natural Gas customers, it could be a 35% to 40% increase. So if you spend $200 a month heating your home, you can expect to spend $280 a month this winter. With regular gas and food prices increasing, managing your budget is going to be essential.
If you are out house hunting, please take the time to sit down and calculate out a preliminary budget. People often get so enamored with a home, they forget to take a look at what it takes to actually maintain that home and live in it.
